Physical Activity, Nutrition and Obesity Prevention (PANO)
Physical activity and proper nutrition are both part of a healthy lifestyle. We promote healthy behaviors including regular physical activity and good nutrition to improve health and quality of life for community members. We influence change within schools, worksites, communities, and healthcare settings.
Nutrition presentations may be offered at local Senior or Community Centers. We assist with the annual Healthy Richfield program, and actively participate in planning meetings.
Gold Medal Schools
Gold Medal Schools™ makes it possible for elementary schools to provide physical activity and healthy nutrition choices at a time when budget cuts and testing requirements overshadow physical activity and nutrition. Gold Medal Schools improves students’ academic success through policies and environmental changes that support good nutrition, physical activity, and staying tobacco-free.
Schools within Central Utah Health District that have participated include Red Cliff, Delta, Fountain Green, Spring City, Oscarson, Pahvant, Ephraim, Gunnison Valley, Manti, Callao, West Desert, Hanksville, Fairview, Nebo View, and Mona Elementary Schools.
