Tobacco Compliance Programs

Central Utah Public Health Department conducts quarterly tobacco compliance checks with all retailers that sell tobacco in the six county area. During these compliance checks a minor (person under 18 years of age) attempts to purchase tobacco. If the store refuses the sale, a positive letter is sent out to the store manager acknowledging that the retailer has passed the check and congratulating them for not selling to minors. Twenty five stores in the six-county area have recently received awards for not selling to minors for the past three years. Retailers receiving these awards are as follows:

Sevier County: Maverick Country #246 and #247, Don's Sinclair

Piute County: Stan's Market and Junction Mini Market

Wayne County: Hollow Mountain, Johnson's Stagecoach, Stan's Chevron, Darrell's Chevron, Ellett's Distribution, Royal's Market, Taft Travel Plaza, Chuck Wagon General

Sanpete County: Maverik Country Store #208 and #257, Moroni Bestway, Terrells, Spring City Services

Juab County: Country Junction and Clover Creek Car Care

Millard County: Delta Chevron, First Capital Chevron, Maverik Country #281, Miller's Texaco and Paradise Chevron
